Porcelain Worktops

Porcelain worktops have been around for a long time, but they’ve been completely reinvented for the contemporary home. Forget the little individual tiles of the 1970s and 80s – today’s porcelain worktops are sleek, stylish and practical. Made from natural ceramic clay fired at very high temperatures and coloured with mineral dyes, porcelain is a great choice for the modern kitchen.

Why choose porcelain?

Porcelain is non-porous and resistant to heat, staining and bacteria. We work with the Dekton® range by Consentino, global leaders in the manufacture and supply of worktops for over 40 years. The slabs come in a large 3200mm x 1440mm format, so there’s minimal joining to detract from the sleek appearance. Porcelain is also easy to maintain – a quick wipe with soap and water is enough to remove everyday marks.

What are the benefits of Dekton porcelain?

Porcelain is non-porous, tough, heat and stain resistant and comes in a wide range of colour and design optionns. It’s resistant to the buildup of mould and bacteria, making it hygenic and easy to maintain. Dekton worktops are available in large slabs of 3200mm by 1440mm, so will require minimal joining in an average-sized kitchen. It’s also available in four thickness options, and comes with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Does Dekton porcelain stain easily?

Dekton is fired at very high temperatures, giving it a tough glazed surface. That means it’s very resistant to staining. Spills from lemon juice, wine or vinegar which could damage other surfaces will simply wipe up.
